Being on Earth: Adolescent Education Today
At a time when our students lives are being increasingly influenced by the virtual, the question of the nature of embodied consciousness takes on new significance in education. How can we better integrate students’ full-body experiences into the way we approach teaching? Is it time to focus more consciously on bringing students to experiences rich with meaning and help them school their thinking on what has touched and moved them?
Wilfried Sommer and Jon McAlice will lead morning sessions exploring aspects of inner agency, individuality and presence in adolescents. Afternoons will be focused on practices for increasing self-directed activity in the various disciplines.
Upper School Teachers are welcome and encouraged to attend this collaborative workshop!!!
The cost of the workshop, including food is $175, payable on registration for teachers from non-participating schools. If you teach at the San Francisco Waldorf School, the Waldorf School of the Penninsula or Summerfield, your school is contributing to cover your costs. Scholarships are available.
